When you are running an online shop, analytics is everything. You need to know where your traffic is coming from, how they are behaving, and what tweaks you can do to increase conversions.
WooCommerce provides a range of powerful reports out of the box. But it didn’t really tell me the whole story. I wanted to know what payment methods were being used by my customers.
The problem is, when you have multiple payment plugins installed, it becomes difficult to know this data. Let me explain why:
- In my store, i use a Stripe plugin to accept Visa, Master, and GrabPay
- I also use Atome to accept buy now pay later orders
- I also use PayNow QR to accept local PayNow payments
So, if I wanted to know which was the most popular, I needed to look at the WooCommerce data itself, and not rely on the reports from the individual plugins.
Now, WooCommerce doesn’t give you that level of detail out of the box. You get your credit card sales, maybe a few bank transfers. But PayNow? Not so much. And that’s a problem, especially here in Singapore, where everyone uses it.
What I needed was a WooCommerce plugin to list my orders by payment method. So, I built it. It’s called PMOR Reports. You can download it for free here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/pmor-reports/
What PMOR Reports can do
PMOR Reports adds a new report to your WooCommerce dashboard. Now, you can get a count of all your orders in a given date range, and break it down by payment method.
Why it matters? Well, if you’re running an ecommerce store in Singapore (or anywhere else where PayNow is popular), you need to know how much of your business is coming from it. You might be surprised. I was.
The plugin told me that nearly 40% of my payments were coming through PayNow. Forty percent! I wrote about it here if you want to know more about the math behind it: https://halfborg.com/ecommerce-store-save-3600-per-year-with-paynow-qr/

Knowing that 40% of my sales were PayNow meant I could optimise my checkout process. I could make sure the PayNow option was front and centre. I could even offer special deals for PayNow users. And because my PayNow plugin does not have any commissions or payment fees, it saves me a lot of money.
But, even if you don’t accept PayNow, you can use the plugin to get a report on your own store. You might be surprised that most of your customers prefer to pay using a method that you thought would be less popular.
So, you need to know where your money is coming from. You need to understand your customers. And sometimes, the standard reports just don’t cut it.
So, if you’re running a WooCommerce store, give PMOR Reports a try. It’s free, it’s easy to use, and it might just give you some insights you didn’t have before. You might find out that a huge chunk of your sales is coming from PayNow too.
