Great news for all you WooCommerce shop owners using my PayNow QR plugin! I’m thrilled to announce an update that makes accepting payments even more versatile: you can now accept PayNow payments via mobile number, in addition to UEN!
For a while now, my WooCommerce PayNow QR plugin has been helping you simplify payments by generating QR codes based on your UEN. It’s been a fantastic tool for businesses looking to streamline their payment process, and I’m really proud of how many of you have found it useful.
But I heard your requests, and I know that many of you also use your mobile numbers for PayNow, especially for personal accounts or smaller operations. So, I’ve been busy behind the scenes, and today, that functionality is officially live!
What’s New?
This update introduces a key enhancement: a new setting that lets you toggle between UEN and mobile number payment types within your plugin settings.
Here’s what that means for you:
- Choose Your Payment Type: You can now select whether your PayNow QR codes are generated using your business UEN or your personal mobile number. This gives you more flexibility to cater to different payment scenarios.
- Seamless QR Code Generation: The plugin will now intelligently generate the correct QR code format based on your chosen payment type. No more manual adjustments or workarounds!
- Clearer Customer Information: When a customer scans your QR code, they’ll see the appropriate identifier – either your UEN with your merchant name or your mobile number – making the payment process even clearer for them.
Don’t worry, backward compatibility is fully maintained. If you’re already using the plugin with your UEN, everything will continue to work exactly as it did before. The default payment type for existing installations will remain “UEN.”
